The local area is well known for its mountain and hill walking, with the classic aspirational day of the CorryHully Horseshoe taking in the munros of Sgurr nan Coireachan and Sgurr Thuilm, and an ascent of Streap both making exceptional mountain days out. Not to be sniffed at is the walk to Loch Bheoraid, with many of the smaller hills around Glenfinnan providing lesser walked mountain challenges greater than those of a higher stature elsewhere!

For those graduating from the West Highland Way, the Cape Wrath Trail walks through Glenfinnan and on to Cape Wrath, providing one of the hardest, and most rewarding distance walks in the UK.

We welcome walkers and can provide advice on local walks and weather conditions. The sleeping car makes a great base for any visit. See the Viaduct Trail page under the facilities links for further information on the viaduct trail.
